Andrew ‘Andy’ J. Beswick, 37 of Oconomowoc, WI left this life on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 after fighting a courageous battle with colon cancer.
Andrew dedicated his talents for over 14 years to the clients and families at Genesee Lake School and Genesee Community Services, most recently as a Senior Behavior Treatment Therapist, a career which he loved and during which he was highly regarded by all his colleagues. Prior to this, Andrew graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and German language from Ripon College in Ripon WI in 2006 before earning his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Cardinal Stritch University in 2016. Andrew was born in Rockford, IL in 1984 to Debby (James) and James ‘Jim’ Beswick, where he lived for 4 years until moving to Belvidere, IL where he grew up and graduated from Belvidere High School in 2002.
Andrew always made a lasting impression on those around him ever since he was young. From his first job as a paperboy for the Belvidere Daily Republican, to his days working at the Wienie Wagon of Belvidere, to his time working at Peterson Meadows Retirement Community in Rockford, Andrew was loved and respected by all who knew him and made friends with everyone. Andrew was always involved in clubs in high school, such as German club and Civil War Roundtable Club, and he became avidly involved in Theta Sigma Tau during his years at Ripon College, where he made many lifelong friends. It was at Ripon where Andrew met his wife, Jessica (Fuoco) Beswick, and they married in 2007. In 2012, they welcomed a baby boy, Tristan James Beswick, who was Andrew’s pride and joy and best buddy in life. Andrew’s family was everything to him and he always cherished the time he had with them.
He loved to travel and try new exotic foods; during his lifetime he traveled to Jamaica, throughout Europe including studying abroad at the University of Bonn in Bonn, Germany, the Bahamas, and Costa Rica, in addition to traveling extensively throughout the U.S. His last trip was a road trip of a lifetime to the Grand Canyon with his mom, wife, son, sister and brother-in-law.
Andrew was the most selfless person with the kindest, biggest heart, always smiling and dedicated to providing for his family. Despite his health struggles, he made the most of life and never complained. He put those he loved first, even in his final days. He went to sleep peacefully with his loved ones by his side, which is exactly how he wanted it to be. Andrew has done everything on his own terms all his life, and this was no different.
Andrew is preceded in death by his dad Jim Beswick and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Jessica (Fuoco) Beswick, his son, Tristan Beswick, his mom, Debby (James) Beswick, his sister Tracy Beswick, his great aunt Norma Boyer, his mother-in-law Anna Fuoco, his father-in-law Michael Fuoco Sr., his brother-in-laws Cian Burke and Michael Fuoco Jr., and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was loved by so many and made such an incredible impact on everyone who had the honor of being around him, and he will be missed more than he ever realized.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 22, 2022 at Fowler Lake Park in Oconomowoc, WI, with more details to follow.
